What's In Season

First crop of transplanted sweet corn was harvested this week with the majority of sweet corn maturing shortly and will be available through July and August. Aronia berries are dropping off the stem due to heat. Apples are spotty this year with some trees having no fruit. Greenhouse tomatoes are available at local farmers markets.

Strawberries are at the cusp of harvest. Field planting including sweet corn is ongoing. High tunnels are still active for peppers. Recent wind and hail led to some high tunnel and crop damage. Hothouse tomatoes look good at local markets. Frost nipped some apple blooms this year but overall tree fruit crops look okay.
