Ingredients
Crust
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup margarine
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 egg yolk (save egg white)
- 1 tsp salt
Filling
- 7 cups apples, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 3 heaping T. flour
Directions
- Mix salt into flour, then cut margarine into flour mixture like pie crust.
- Mix egg and milk together then add to mixture a little at a time, tossing mix with fork as you add until it forms a ball.
- Divide in two, roll out half and line a large cookie sheet. Set other half to the side.
- Next, mix filling ingredients together well.
- Spread apple filling evenly on dough, leaving space along edges to seal.
- Roll out last half of dough and cover apple filling.
- Seal top and bottom edges of dough together.
- Beat egg white and brush on top.
- Bake at 350 degrees F for 35-40 minutes until top is gold brown.
