Since 1995 the Cherokee Locker was a fixture of downtown Cherokee and was owned and operated by Dale and Blair Allen. Specializing in custom orders they grew their relatively small facility from processing two to ten beef per week along with a steady stream of hogs. They built a loyal customer base by providing timely and exceptional service coupled with an eye for quality cuts, a tradition we are proud to continue.

The COVID pandemic brought many hardships to every community. Many of the local grocery stores that people purchased beef and pork from could not keep their shelves full, so the public turned to its local farmers and ranchers looking for a way to buy directly from them. This resulted in demand skyrocketing for custom orders, demand that the old locker facility could not meet. And from that an idea was proposed to the Allen brothers, if the community invests in a new state-of-the-art locker would you manage it? They agreed and over 65 investors, all with minority interests and consisting of a wide range of backgrounds, came together to support the build. With their support and investment, along with support from the USDA, Central Bank of Cherokee, the Cherokee Industrial Corporation, and many other businesses throughout our community we are proud to have completed a new cutting-edge meat processing facility. The new facility can meet the growing demands of our increasing customer base, has created new job opportunities, and will soon provide the opportunity to market and ship our meats throughout the United States.
