Barrels Iowa

Barrels Iowa began in 2012 with the goal of building rain barrels for our home and for friends, with a focus on sustainability and water conservation. Over the years, we've grown to offer custom-built and installed rain barrels to homes and businesses throughout the Des Moines area, providing eco-friendly solutions tailored to each customer’s needs.

In 2019, we expanded our passion for sustainability into beekeeping, starting with two hives. Since then, we've gained invaluable experience in beekeeping and are currently working with one hive, with plans to split it into a few more and add a five-frame nuc. Our commitment to healthy hives and pollination supports local ecosystems while producing high-quality honey. We also invested in a twelve-frame extractor last year to enhance our beekeeping operations.

Our mission is to promote environmental sustainability—whether through water conservation with our rain barrels or supporting local pollination efforts with our beekeeping. We're dedicated to growing our business while making a positive impact on our community and the planet.
