Choose fresh looking herbs with bright green leaves. Remove any brown or bruised leaves before storing.
Store herbs on the countertop in a glass jar with 1-2 inches of water for up to 2 weeks, refreshing the water as needed. Wash basil, dry with a paper towel, then wrap a paper towel loosely around it. Place in plastic bag in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
